The Organic Growers School Spring Conference is a one-of-a-kind event that brings people of all walks of life together for a weekend of learning and networking near Asheville, North Carolina. This year’s conference will be held during the weekend of March 8-9.
On Saturday afternoon during the conference Drystone Joe will be teaching a DIY drystone masonry workshop tailored towards homeowners wanting to construct their own drystone masonry landscape projects. Joe will cover safety issues, tool selection, use, stone types, math formulas for figuring your own project’s materials, and drystone building methodology.

5-day Stone Retaining Wall Restoration Workshop

The workshop will include classroom activities & hands-on restoration of a stone retaining wall on the grounds of the Black Mountain Center for the Arts. We will cover history, methodology, safety, tool selection and use, and formulas for figuring the time and materials you will need to complete your own project. Please bring safety glasses, snug-fitting work gloves, a tape measure, a stone hammer, and measurements for projects you are considering. Cost of this one-week workshop is $350.
