This 1.5-day stonemasonry workshop at Owl Peak Farm in La Madera, NM will explore types of stone, stone shaping tools, stone moving tools, drystone masonry methodology, safety, math (!), and drawings.
We will estimate the amount of stone, tools, and time you will need to complete your own projects, and draw it on graph paper to scale.
At Owl Peak Farm, we will look at photos and videos of stonework and tools, then rebuild two flagstone entryways and edging for the Sala/Linda’s Coffee and The Cantina/Owl Peak Farms’ Store.
Participants should bring work gloves, safety glasses, and a tape measure. In addition, please bring measurements of a project you plan to build, and photos if possible.
Meals and limited accommodations will be available at Owl Peak Farm.
Meals are also available at nearby Ojo Caliente Hot Springs
